Thanks for watching 'Make It Or Break It'

Dear Friends-

Thank you for all your support, watching Make It Or Break It last night - or online if it wasn't available in your country. The ratings were a huge success as it was ABC Family's 2nd most watched premier in the history of the network.

I love reading all your comments, the good and the bad and hope that you'll write to ABC Family and let them know as well. It's SO important and your comments really do go a long way! As for the language- I'm totally with you! I was hoping they wouldn't see a need to use such words and trust me when I tell you I'm praying and suggesting they don't. I don't have any final say, but the producers are wonderful and open to hearing our thoughts.

The reason I wasn't in the first episode much is because the pilot was already shot before I signed onto the show. They added me in one scene (that we later shot during the second episode). Because they have to wrap up some of the story lines from the pilot, I'm in a lot more around the 4th episode. I hope you'll keep watching. ;)

My character is a Christian- although she's not ME. There are certainly things about Summer that are not true to me and the way I live my faith, so try not to be confused if Summer does something Candace wouldn't. It's a difficult separation and one I'm trying to monitor and discern wisely. And even though "Lauren" makes fun of Summer as a Christian, hang in there, because Summer doesn't take the snide remarks forever.

I know that some of you were looking forward to another "Full House". Frankly, I'd love it if it were, in the sense that every age could sit down and watch the show comfortably. But, Make It Or Break It is a "teen" drama and in my opinion, not suited for younger children. I did let my kids watch the first episode last night because they begged me- having been to the set and excited that mom is back on TV. But, that's just about the only episode I'll let them watch. The content gets even more "teen" rated as the show goes on, so moms beware.

Please know that I'm working from the inside out. In other words, I don't think the entertainment industry can be changed unless our voices are heard (that means YOU!) and that there are people within the industry being a light. Please know that I'm praying for change and trying to be that positive influence through Jesus in me.

If you are unhappy about the language in the show, by all means, let ABC Family know! Things can only change if the voices are loud enough. Here is a link where you can write.

Thanks again for watching and thank you for your support and prayers. I'm here to be the conservative voice for YOU! (Change takes time, but I'll never give up the fight)

Blessings to you,

Candace

Why aren't I sleeping?

This is crazy. It's 1:30am and anyone who knows me, knows I am normally sleeping by now. I rarely stay up past 11- and that's LATE! It must be the combination of being alone in L.A.- no kids to wake up to, and coming back from the International Upfronts. I guess this is my way of "chatting" about the evening even though no one is here. Ha!

And now i'm officially tired and not even going to tell you about it. ;) nice, huh?

My Very First Blog

Well, I did it. I don't know why.... but I did it. I've created an official blog.

I've posted a few blogs on MySpace and was importing them to Facebook, and would copy and paste them to my website and now GodTube. But Facebook doesn't import the whole blog, or at least I couldn't figure out how to do it, and some people couldn't read the original blog.... so I decided to do this instead. I'm hoping it might be easier to just send everyone here- should you want to read about my ramblings. And trust me, they will be ramblings.

I never knew social networking would be so hard! :) I guess I'm a sucker for my Mac and keeping in touch with everyone on the planet.  My son Lev asked me the other day... "Mommy, how old were you when you got your own Facebook page"? I said "32". And he gave me that "what in the world are you talking about?" kind of look. I told him there was no Facebook when I was a kid. In fact, having your own computer at home was a BIG deal and not many people had them! I told him we got our first  Apple computer when I was 12 and if I remember correctly, I think it was black and white- seriously- or at least the games on it were. Now, when Lev asks me a question about something when I was young, he says, "Mom, back in the olden days, when you were a kid....." HA! the 80's were the olden days!!! I used to say the same thing to my mom. Now I know how she felt!

See- I'm rambling.

So, to kick this blog off- I'm going to post of few of my older blogs. Some are actually meaningful, some are informational, and some are just silly.

Enjoy!
